Weather, climate, climate change and air quality are hot topics. Meteorology studies the physical processes in the atmosphere and their interactions with soil, water and vegetation on the earth surface. Chemical reactions are also very important, especially for air quality. The processes are studied at different scales, varying from land-atmosphere interactions such as evaporation, the effects of climate on landscape processes, and climate change on a global level. If you like all this, perhaps the Master Meteorology and Air Quality is a good choice for you!

The programme
During the last decades the knowledge of atmospheric processes has increased significantly, both with regard to the interrelationship between these processes and the numerical models by which they can be described. The development of new knowledge and techniques is increasingly dependent of the cooperation between scientists from various disciplines and on a proper mix of theory development, laboratory and field research and numerical modelling. The MSc programme Meteorology and Air Quality at Wageningen University focuses on the processes and dynamics of the atmosphere over land from local to global scales. The acquired knowledge is applied to subjects related to weather, climate and air quality. Students will learn to deal with the important aspects of observations and models, and will be trained to recognise, understand and apply new concepts as they emerge in the literature.

Study association Pyrus
Pyrus is the study association for and by students Soil, Water, Atmosphere and related Master programmes, such as the Master Hydrology and Water Quality. Pyrus is an active and social association which organizes all kinds of events. For Master students, Pyrus organizes a Master dinner, to get to know your fellow students and students of related Masters. Next to this, Pyrus sends its members an e-mail every week, which contains relevant information with respect to job vacancies, thesis presentations and much more. So, being a member of Pyrus is not only very nice, it is very useful too! Take a look on their website for more information.

Fairs and visits
Come to Wageningen on an Open Day. You get to know the place, ask all your questions and see some presentations.

Meet us in your country
If you want to attend an open day but you live far away, it might be possible for you to meet us in your own country! More information and dates of these visits can be
